Adults Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)

The Adults Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program provides services to improve skills and credentials to secure and advance employment for adults over the age of 18, particularly those with barriers to employment.

Aspire

Adult Basic Skills Education and Aspire programs offer free services to help prepare adults for the high school equivalence test, postsecondary education, and employment.

Choose Ohio First

The Choose Ohio First Program is designed to increase the number of Ohio residents completing postsecondary studies in the fields of science (including health professions), technology, engineering, and mathematics, (STEM), as well as teaching degrees or certificates that focus on STEM disciplines.

Community Colleges

Community College programs are usually two years or less for full-time students and lead to certificates or associate’s degrees. These programs prepare students for immediate employment or for transfer to a college or university.

Comprehensive Case Management and Employment Program

The Comprehensive Case Management and Employment Program (CCMEP) helps low-income young adults build career paths, find employment and break the cycle of poverty. CCMEP services are specifically tailored to each individual.

Dislocated Workers Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)

The Dislocated Workers Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program provides services to improve skills and credentials to secure and advance employment for dislocated workers who have lost their job through no fault of their own.

Jobs for Veterans State Grants

The Jobs for Veterans State Grants (JVSG) program provides individualized career and training-related services to veterans and eligible persons with significant barriers to employment.

Ohio College Opportunity Grant

The Ohio College Opportunity Grant program provides money to Ohio residents who demonstrate the highest levels of financial need, for enrollment at colleges or universities in Ohio.

Ohio Technical Centers

Ohio Technical Centers (OTCs) provide post-secondary career and technical education (CTE) that prepares learners for certificates, industry-recognized certifications, and state licensures.

Vocational Rehabilitation Adult

Vocational Rehabilitation services assist people with physical, mental and emotional disabilities with finding and retaining meaningful work and personal independence.

From July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019 there were 12,394 participants in Ohio.

Vocational Rehabilitation Youth

Vocational Rehabilitation services assist people with physical, mental and emotional disabilities with finding and retaining meaningful work and personal independence. Services are available to eligible Ohioans aged 14 years and older.

From July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019 there were 14,678 participants in Ohio.

Youth Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)

The Youth Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program provides services to improve skills and credentials to secure and advance employment for individuals aged 14-24, particularly those with barriers to employment.
